Chester and Linkin Park was a big part of my angsty late teens. He’ll never be forgotten T-shirt
Leader Linkin Park suicide at age 41. “Someone say this is not true?” – That is the mood, the common feeling of many fans before the news of Chester Bennington died.
The sudden departure of Chester Bennington, leader of Linkin Park, not only shocked the world’s fans but many famous stars also express grief for him and his family on the network.
Man… As a kid I grew up listening to their music. Bought both hybrid theory and was hooked since. Bought meteora the day it came out and binged on it so hard. As time passed I started listening to other types of genres, eventually stopped following them but occasionally checked out their new stuff. Chester was the first person’s voice who I could relate to, I always thought I had to have a super masculine singing voice, but when I heard him and how great he sounded in In the end, I started to realise I didn’t need to force myself to try to sing in a deeper key just to conform. I’ve always wanted to eventually see them at a concert, they were the first band I avidly followed, but now I won’t get that chance.
Yeah it’s so surreal, I think I’m still trying to process that he’s gone. I don’t know why, I guess he always seemed larger than life and it’s just hard to think he’s really gone. I guess in a way we grew up with them, even though we don’t know them personally, they in some way, shape or form helped molded our life. Kids are impressionable, and growing up listening to their music, I definitely related to their music. I still can’t believe it…
Rip, one of the most unique voices that has touched untold millions around the world.
